csi yonge & wellesley *updated

I was all set to do a funny entry about Hayley coming over last night and buying me beer, passing out and then disappearing in the middle of the night, but I had an interesting thing happen on the walk to work.

I had just gotten to the end of my block and could go no further. The police had taped off Yonge Street, both sidewalks, so I had to go around. I followed some suits who cut through an alley and came out on Wellesley. The road was blocked off right until the corner. Everyone was (of course) gawking and pushing to see what was going on. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary but then I noticed a homeless guy sleeping on the sidewalk in front of Starbucks. At first I was thinking ‘you’d think they'd make him leave a crime scene’ but then I realized he probably was he crime scene. Or scene rather, as it was probably the cold weather that caused his end. Also a trio of homeless men were standing there asking everyone if they’d seen the body and then saying it was their friend Jimmy or something. They fairly glowed under all the attention they were receiving. So for those of you keeping track this is the second possible body sighting I’ve had since moving downtown just over nine months ago.

As you can see from my mention of the crime scene I’m still in a CSI daze after this weekend; Jeremy and I watched an entire season back to back. Twenty-three episodes. When I watched 3000 Miles to Graceland with Hayley I kept pointing out how easily they would be caught. They didn’t even wear gloves!!! And they were in Vegas!! Grissom would all over them within a matter of hours.

UPDATE* so it was not a frozen person situation, it was a crazy knife wielding situation. elo explains it in her comment below. the police pinned him with thier car to subdue him. i guess that explains why two blocks were taped off...
