vimy

On this day of remembrance I am recommending a book to read. A book that has humour and war in it’s pages. It is Vimy by Pierre Berton. Jeremy had to twist my arm to read it; I never read non-fiction and military history would be about the last thing I would ever care to read about.

Boy am I glad he was right (in this isolated case).

Between the description of battlegrounds to anecdotes of Canadian civilians turned soldiers you are kept riveted to the real life events surrounding the
battle of Vimy Ridge.

Read it for the story of how Canadian soldiers burned down a movie tent because the same movie was shown one to many times or read it for the off the wall battlefield tactics and techniques we used.

Just read it.
